I'm so glad that you also like my Mt. Adams design. My husband and I were living there when I painted this little oil! I reminds me of our life up in this trendy hilltop area before we had kids, when we could go out for a night of food and jazz and walk home!

Artist's Description

I've added a greeting to my original 'Mt. Adams- Cincinnati, Ohio' painting, so you can have a print or note card that says, "Greetings from Cincinnati, Ohio". Mt. Adams is an upscale, progressive neighborhood on a hill just east of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio known for it's entertainment, bars and restaurants. It's on a hillside with a breathtaking view of the Ohio river, which is an added bonus! Mt. Adams was originally settled by German and Irish immigrants. In the 1830's and 1840's, it was the site of Catawba vineyards and today is a real 'destination place' for Friday and Saturday night life. Formerly a bohemian haven, this trendy place is great for having that special glass of wine, sitting amongst the beautiful and historic architecture. Nearby Eden Park is home to the Cincinnati Art Museum and Krohn Conservatory.

I imagine I began my love for art when I was first able to hold a crayon in my chubby little toddler hand. From then on, it began a life-long exploration of every color in that box . I hail from Evansville, Ind. and currently reside in Mason, Ohio, having spent 30 yrs. in Cincinnati in between. I received my degree in Fine Art from Indiana University, Bloomington, majoring in graphic design and also with a concentration in painting. I was an artist for the school newspaper which usually called for a cartoon and I occasionally gravitate back towards a cartoon style even now. After graduation, I worked at various jobs while also selling paintings along the way. The jobs ranged from an ad agency to the airlines to a live children's TV...
